Payouts- (Guaranteed $1500 to win) If they get 50 cars 1st will pay $2000, 2nd will be $1000, 3rd will be $500 If less than 50 cars 1st will be $1500, 2nd $ 500, 3rd $250

Shepps Speedway 3201 Old Route 36 Alexander, IL 62601 1) Passenger cars, station wagons, or convertibles (convertibles must have box type roll cage). 2) No Chrysler Imperials, imperial sub frames, ambulances, hearses, or limousines. 3) All glass, chrome, mirrors, & lights must be removed & cars must be swept clean of debris. 4) All flammable material except driver seat must be removed (which means if it burns remove it). 5) Seat belts are required in all cars (must be in working condition). 6) All drivers must wear approved helmets. 7) Automotive type radiators only & must remain in stock position (water only, no reserve tanks, no exceptions). 8) Transmission oil coolers are allowed. 9) No engine oil coolers allowed. 10) No starting fluid allowed. 11) Doors are to be chained, wired , or welded shut (drivers door only may be welded solid). Grader blades allowed but not to exceed 6 inches past front door post or rear of front door. 12) Tailgates can be chained or wired shut or removed (no welds). 13) Batteries may be moved inside of car to the passenger compartment & must be secured. 14) Gas tanks must be removed & placed behind drivers compartment & chained securely (boat tank is preferred, no more than 6 gallons of gas per run). 15) Must be gasoline only, no alcohol or propane. 16) Fuel lines must run inside of the car not under the car or along the frame. 17) Gas tank protectors are allowed but cannot be welded to the frame (must be 1” from body & 1 foot from door.) 18) Fans may be removed. 19) Hole may be cut in firewall for distributor clearance (no distributor protectors). 20) Roll bars are allowed but can’t exceed the drivers compartment. Must be straight up behind seat. (cannot be welded to the frame or be placed inside of door skins, this means one bar across dash, one bar down each door, & one bar behind driver seat only). 21) Reinforcement to include: four ¾” bolts outboard of radiator & four ¾” bolts in the trunk, bolts may be ran through the frame, you may use #9 wire if you choose not to use bolts, no half & half. Bolt washer to be inside of the frame. Washers not to exceed 6” diameter. 22) Fenders may be cut for tire clearance. You may use up to 8 3/8” bolts per fender for tire clearance. 23) Body mounts can be removed & the body bolted solidly to the frame. 24) Frames may be notched or dimpled but no welding of the cut. No plating of the frame whatsoever. Engines must be match make of car (which means GM on GM, Ford on Ford, etc). 25) Shackles must remain in stock position (no clamps). 26) Front of A arms only can be welded. No bolting A arms to the frame. 27) No kickers or skid plates allowed. No down tubes allowed. 28) No added weight to any car. 29) No re stubbing of frames. 30) No re patching of holes in body or frame. 31) No welding of the frame of any kind. 32) No seam welding on the body of any kind other than the drivers door. 33) No bumper stuffing or adding metal to the bumpers, bumpers must be factory. 34) No welding or chaining of bumpers. 35) Bumpers may be turned upside down. 36) Bumpers may be cut for tire clearance. 37) Front doors to be painted white with a black number of your choice. 38) Hoods must have two holes at least 6 inches in diameter on each side of carburetor. You may use up to 8 3/8” bolts or self tapping screws per hood cut out, no welding of cut outs. 39) If hood is removed, the fan belt must be cut. 40) Rear ends must be from a passenger car & have no more than 5 lugs maximum (no truck, 8 lug, or floater rear ends). 41) No coil to leaf spring conversion. 42) Shocks cannot be removed (shock absorbers must be factory, no truck shocks, etc). 43) Cars must have give & bounce between suspension & body. 44) Automotive leaf springs only, no truck springs of any kind. 45) Leaf springs may be taped but not welded, clamped, or bolted. 46) All tires must be DOT approved, no larger than 16 inch tires allowed. 47) No forklift or paddle tires are allowed. 48) Liquid filled tires are allowed, doubled tires are allowed. No bead locks, No self tapping beads, No split rims. 49) Valve stem protectors are allowed & wheel weights must be removed. 50) All cars to have 2 wire ,chain, or bar from center of roof down to the firewall. 51) Truck rear ends are not allowed. 52) You must make contact with a moving car every 1 minute, if not you will must remove stick or flag and will be eliminated from the event. 53) No sandbagging or teamwork will be allowed. 54) Final car making contact in main event is considered the winner (car must be able to move). 55) No intentional drivers door hits allowed. 56) Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed in the pit area, no exceptions. 57) If you switch cars during the event, the car you drive must have previously competed in the event. 58) Winning cars to be inspected after main event, no exceptions 59) Each car gets maximum of 2 times through inspection. 60) Drivers meeting is mandatory. 61) Track officials decision is final, no exceptions. 62) IF IT DOES NOT SAY YOU CAN DO SOMETHING SPECIFIC IN THE RULES, CALL FIRST, DO NOT JUST ASSUME IT CAN BE DONE OR YOU WILL NOT PARTICIPATE. 63) Please sign in one hour before the event. 64) Everyone in the pit area must sign in & have a pit pass. 65) Compacts wheel base not to exceed 103 inches must be 6 cylinders or less (No forklift or paddle tires), no exceptions. 66) Car and driver entry fee is $50, each additional person entering the pits is $25 per pit pass. 67) Derby to be held July 31, 2010. 68) If you have any questions please contact us at: Steve Sheppard Jr. 217-836-6636 Stu Good 217-883-7617 |
