U.M.P. DIRTcar 4 Cylinders Rules
2009 U.M.P. DIRTcar 4 Cylinder Rules
1. Any four-cylinder (4) car or truck (no 4WD or AWD) with maximum wheelbase of one hundred four inches (104”) with complete stock body, frame and suspension. No bracing anywhere, except inside driver’s compartment. Dash, steering and pedals must remain stock for that make and model. All insulation under hood must be removed. No slab bodies.
2. Roll Cage: Full four-post (4) roll cage must be used. Must have minimum of three (3) door bars in driver’s side (plate recommended).
3. Stock OEM engine unaltered.
4. Stock carburetor/fuel system for that make and model of vehicle. No turbo chargers.
5. Stock transmission for the make and model of vehicle you are racing.
6. Suspension must remain stock. No spring spacers.
7. Battery can be left under hood, but if moved to back must be in battery box securely mounted.
8. Stock unaltered rear end for that make and model of vehicle.
9. Passenger tires only. Wheels and tires must be of like size. Can run seven inch (7”) wide wheels. No low profile tires. 35 lbs. air pressure minimum.
10. Gas Tank: If stock gas tank is ahead of rear axle, it must be replaced with a fuel cell or boat tank. (6.6 gal max.) Fuel cell/boat tank must be covered, secured and located in trunk. Must be safe.
11. Driver’s door must be welded or chained shut. Driver side doorplates recommended. A leaf spring separated and welded to the outside of door allowed. Passenger door must open.
12. Fire suit, gloves and shoes are recommended.
13. Must have DOT or Snell approved helmet.
14. All glass must be removed. Third brake light must remain intact and operable.
15. Approved racing safety belts and shoulder harness required. Must be quick release type belts. Must be securely fastened to car frame or roll cage. Racing seat recommended.
16. Car radios and speakers may remain intact and in working condition
17. Wiring under dash may be removed.
18. Car horn must remain intact and in working condition.
19. Cars must have a 24” number on the roof and at least an 18” number on each door. THIS IS A MUST! All numbers must be easily visible and readable by the track officials. In the situation of duplicate numbers the track officials may assign a letter to you. It is your responsibility to add this letter to the right side of the car; failure to do so will cause you to be scored last for your event.
20. Cars must be kept neat appearing; no loose or hanging sheet metal.
21. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A CHAIN LOOP ON FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS SO THAT THE WRECKER CAN PICK THE CAR UP. THIS IS A MUST!
22. Random brake checks will be enforced. If your car fails the mandatory brake check, you will not be allowed to start the night’s Feature event.
23. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO A MINIMUM SPECIFICATION INSPECTION AT ANY TIME.
